Zhongjie Ji

Zhongjie is a PhD student in Plant, Soil and Microbial department in Michigan State University. He graduated from Shandong Agricultural University with Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy in May 2016. After graduation, he joined Jiang lab in Purdue University, and got his master degree in Purdue University in May 2018.

Currently, he is working on crop modeling program in Dr. Addie Thompson’s lab. And, he is supported to integrate his model by NRT-IMPACTS training program: In-canopy image-based maize leaf area estimation and predictive modeling which is collaborated with Dr. Daniel Morris in department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He wants to develop and protocol for acquiring inside the canopy, segment the corn leaf from image and model leaf area and use leaf area data to model and predict the growth of new genotypes in new environments.
